D.A. Novikov is a specialist in the field of interdisciplinary systems management theory.

Main scientific achievements:

• A set of decision-making methods of managing systems of an interdisciplinary nature was created.
• Game-theoretic and optimization models for targeted, cooperative, and/or competitive behavior of multi-agent systems were developed.
• Problems of harmonization of interests, reflexive management, and optimization of hierarchical and network structures were formulated and solved.
• A set of applied management mechanisms, the effectiveness of which is confirmed in the practical implementation of project management mechanisms at the federal level, as well as in the management of regions, corporations, and industrial enterprises was created.

Academic Advising

Under D.A. Novikov’s supervision, 26 Candidate of Science and 8 Doctor of Science theses were defended.

Publications

D.A. Novikov is the author of more than 400 scientific publications on the theory of management systems of interdisciplinary nature, including cybernetics, systems analysis, game theory, problem solving, project management, and mathematical models of management mechanisms for socioeconomic systems. More than 100 papers were published in Scopus or Web of Science.

D.A. Novikov is the Editor-in-Chief of the following journals: Control Sciences, Large-Scale Systems Control, Advances in Systems Science and Applications. He is a member of editorial boards of journals: Avtomatika i Telemekhanika, Industrial Laboratory. Diagnostics of Materials, Automation and Remote Control; Editor-in-Chief of proceedings of a set of international scientific conferences.
