Academic Carrier

• In 1976, Sergey O. Kramarov graduated from the Rostov State University (RSU, Rostov-on-Don, USSR) in Radiophysics and Electronics.
• From 1976 to 1978, he was a Researcher at the Department of Semiconductors, Faculty of Physics, RSU.
• In 1978–1979, he was a Postgraduate Student at the Rostov State Pedagogical Institute (RSPI, Rostov-on-Don, USSR).
• In 1979, he defended his thesis for the Candidate of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics.
• From 1979 to 1999, he worked at the RSPI, rising from the position of Research Fellow to Director of the Institute of Informatization of Education and Vice-Rector for International Relations.
• In 1984–1986, he was seconded to the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (Leningrad, USSR) to write his doctoral thesis.
• In 1989, he defended his thesis for the Doctor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics.
• In 1994, he was awarded the title of Professor with a specialization in Solid State Physics.
• In 2000–2002, he was the Director of the Don Institute of Informatization of Education (Rostov-on-Don, Russia).
• In 2002–2005, he was the Director of the Don affiliate of the Eurasian Open Institute (Rostov-on-Don, Russia).
• In 2005, he was the Vice-Rector for Intellectual Resources Mobility, Head of the Research Center “Intellectual Resources Mobility,” Institute of Management, Business and Law (IMB&L; Rostov-on-Don, Russia).
• In 2015–2018, he was the Director of the Institute of Information Systems, Head of the SMART Research Center “System Modeling and Analysis of Territorial Development” at the Southern University (IMB&L).
• Since 2018 to the present, he has been the Chief Researcher at Surgut State University (Surgut, Russia).

Academic Advising

The scientific school of S.O. Kramarov includes 17 candidates and 1 doctor of science. Under his leadership and with his direct involvement, a number of research projects were implemented, the results of which became winners of grant competitions at various levels, including grants from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Russian Science Foundation, IREX Foundation (International Research and Exchange Council), USA; grants from the Russian Ministry of Education, TACIS program (Technical Assistance for the Commonwealth of Independent States), Contemporary Natural Science Foundation, etc.

Publications

S.O. Kramarov is the author of more than 200 scientific works, including about 30 patents and inventions, 11 monographs, more than 45 scientific publications in Scopus and Web of Science.

He is a member of the editorial boards of scientific journals Surgut State University Journal and Modern Information Technologies and IT-Education.
